This self-portrait showcases what it's like to stand inside a crack (crevasse) of a glacier. I'm standing over frozen water so you can't stand here in the summer. It was bitter cold winter day in Alaska when I spent a day exploring these magnificent features on Matanuska glacier.
My friend Connor looking through the ceiling of an ice cave called moulin. This hole in the ceiling was the only source of light in this awesome cave that we found. It was the most blue cave that I've seen so far.
This frozen waterfall inside an ice cave is one of the coolest things I've seen in nature. It wasn't there for long until the warm temperatures melted it and it never came back. I felt lucky to witness it while it was there.
Exploring the ice caves in Alaska. This ice cave has changed massively over the years with the hole in the ceiling growing huge and new openings forming. I feel I photographed it at the right time though when it was looking at its best.
