You're looking at the second highest icefall in the world with my good friend Brandon scoping around it. There is so much inspiration for me in this scene. When I stood here in awe, and that expression doesn't even get near how I really felt, I wondered how anything like this can exist. And how do we keep it that way? Brandon is an outstanding climber and on this trip, him and I rapelled to a moulin to find out what lurked beneath. We found nothing else than ice and eerieness, and had to climb up from there quickly. It was such an otherworldly experience, an environement surely lost by humanity. If you're wondering what a moulin is, it's a gigantic hole on a glacier carved by moving water that goes deep into the ice. They are some of the most hostile places for humans on the planet, I would think. But what you take away from an experience like that is priceless. And when you share that experience with your good friend, you've created a memory to last forever.
